Lunch Series: Casting a Vision for Your Disciple

It can be hard for any one of us to see God's vision for our disciple and join with him in helping it become a reality. Ari Adkins, principal of Akili Christian High School, is a woman of vision, and has much to say on this crucial topic.

"Without a vision, the people will perish."

Personal vision can serve as much needed motivation and encouragement for those we coach and mentor, especially during difficult times.  Modeled by Jesus, ("Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.") this strategy is every bit as relevant today. But how do we communicate our vision effectively to our disciples without creating pressure or frustration? This talk will cover the foundations of developing vision for disciples, common pitfalls in doing so, and how to share vision in a loving yet challenging way.

Ari Adkins works with some of the most at-risk youth in the city as the principal of Akili High School. To be successful in her field requires a vision for how God can change each person and faith in his ability to help make that vision a reality. Gifted in this area, Ari has much to teach each of us about how to help our disciples see and move toward their God-given potential.

The Discipleship Network meets the third Thursday of the month for inspiration, equipping, and community for everyday disciplemakers. A catered lunch is provided free of charge, but we do ask that you RSVP. Feel free to invite anyone you think may benefit.
