[CDN] How to Develop Vision in Discipleship

The tricky business of seeing not where a person is -- but the potential of who they could become in Christ -- is an art that can make or break a discipleship relationship. Ari Adkins has an excellent track record (personally and professionally) of instilling inspiring vision in others. Join us!

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” - Matthew 4:19

Personal vision can serve as much needed motivation and encouragement for those we coach and mentor, especially during difficult times. Modeled by Jesus, this strategy is every bit as relevant today. But it can feel difficult, sometimes impossible, to look through the mess of a person's current reality and see a victorious, multiplying Christ-follower on the other side. Yet, that's exactly how God views us! He promises it's possible, and provides the power through the Holy Spirit to get there. How can we develop and communicate God's vision effectively to our disciples without creating pressure or frustration?

Ari Adkins works with some of the most at-risk youth in the city as the principal of Akili Christian High School. To be successful in her field requires a vision for how God can change each person and faith in his ability to help make that vision a reality. Gifted in this area, Ari has much to teach each of us about how to help our disciples see and move toward their God-given potential.

PLEASE NOTE: We'll meet at the Polaris COHATCH for the 2024-2025 season.

Columbus Discipleship Network meets the third Thursday of the month (second Tuesday in Nov & Dec) for inspiration, equipping, and community for everyday disciplemakers. A catered lunch is provided free of charge, but we do ask that you RSVP. Feel free to invite anyone you think may benefit.
